Two Zimbabwean men executed in Limpopo village ambush

Gunmen opened fire on two Zimbabwean men in Limpopo on Sunday morning, killing them in a suspected execution-style hit.

Police were called to Ha-Rangani village in the Masisi area, Vhembe district, shortly after 7.30am and found a bloody crime scene.

A white Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD was discovered abandoned in the bush next to a gravel road. Inside, one of the men, 30, sat slumped in the driver’s seat with multiple bullet wounds. His associate, 28, was found a few metres away, also riddled with gunfire.

The victims were both originally from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. One lived in Musina, the other in Ha-Rangani.

Detectives recovered live rounds, several spent cartridges and a cellphone at the scene.

Police have opened a case of double murder, with the provincial organised crime unit now hunting the killers.

Limpopo police commissioner Lt-Gen Thembi Hadebe said: “We have mobilised resources to track down the suspects. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Anyone with leads can call Lt-Col Rodney Ndou on 082 807 2666, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or send an anonymous tip via the MySAPS app.
