SA’s Sophie Ndaba to land in Zimbabwe for Seminar on Leadership

Harare will host a high-profile women’s leadership and entrepreneurship forum later this month as South African actress-turned-entrepreneur Sophie Ndaba headlines the Her Power Business Breakfast, an event positioning itself at the intersection of business leadership, personal branding and economic empowerment.

The breakfast meeting, hosted by ZiFM Stereo, is scheduled for March 26 at Imba Matombo and will bring together women executives, entrepreneurs and professionals from across Zimbabwe’s business and creative sectors under the theme “Rise. Lead. Thrive.”

Ndaba, best known for her long-running role on South African television before pivoting into entrepreneurship, has in recent years built a portfolio that spans events management, wellness advocacy and business mentorship. Her post-acting career has focused on helping emerging entrepreneurs, particularly women, convert personal brands and creative skills into scalable businesses, a transition that has made her a sought-after speaker on resilience and reinvention in volatile markets.

Organisers say the Harare event is designed as a departure from conventional conference formats, favouring direct engagement and open dialogue over formal keynote speeches. Participants will be encouraged to interact closely with speakers, discuss real-world business challenges and exchange practical strategies on leadership, growth and sustainability. The format reflects a broader shift among African business forums toward peer-to-peer learning and mentorship as tools for capacity building.

Ndaba will be joined by Zimbabwean agripreneur and philanthropist Nomhle Mliswa, and lawyer-turned-creative entrepreneur Chenesai Mangoma, offering perspectives that cut across agriculture, law, media and the creative economy. Together, the speakers are expected to address issues ranging from enterprise development and professional positioning to navigating gender-specific barriers in business leadership.

The organisers say the objective extends beyond motivation, aiming to foster durable professional networks and collaborations that persist beyond the event itself. Attendees have been encouraged to adopt formal business attire, reinforcing the executive tone of the gathering.

Tickets are priced at $70 and are available through ZiFM Stereo and the venue. As Zimbabwe continues to push for greater participation of women in enterprise and leadership, the Her Power Business Breakfast is positioning itself as a platform where influence, experience and opportunity converge in a deliberately intimate setting.
