Former ZANU-PF minister Saviour Kasukuwere has once again resorted to social media where he launched an unprovoked tirade against President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. In a flurry of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Kasukuwere declared that “ED’s time is up” and threatened that if the President does not resign, “we will assist him.”
These tweets come at a time when Blessed Geza has upped his game holding regular addresses on YouTube where he is promising people that President Mnangagwa is going soon.
Saviour Kasukuwere, Blessed Geza are ex ZANU PF members who are calling for Mnangagwa’s ouster from government. However it has to be noted that current members of ZANU PF are silent and many are pushing for 2030 ndeya Emmerson.
The terrain is different from November 2017 when ZANU PF members openly booed Grace Mugabe and publicly challenged former President Robert Mugabe. This has left analysts asking if there is anyone inside ZANU PF who really has the power to openly challenge President Mnangagwa.
Kasukuwere and Geza in public addresses paint a picture of “abject poverty” and “corruption,” while Central Committee members receive vehicles.
The question then becomes will those pushing for Mnangagwa’s outer recieve any support from the structures of ZANU PF ? Are the structures interested or everyone is busy waiting for their own car and a go see Victor moment.
There rumours of tremors within ZANU PF and speculation that something is brewing. Those of us on the outside can only sit and wait, que sera sera.
