Hon. Spare Sithole, Member of Parliament for Insiza South, has been widely commended by civil servants, security officials and community leaders following a special appreciation meeting in Filabusi on Friday, 17 January—a gathering that highlighted his ongoing commitment to constituency development in a region facing persistent rural challenges.
Insiza South, a predominantly rural constituency in Matabeleland South Province, is anchored around Filabusi, a service centre supporting farming and residual mining activities in an area marked by semi‑arid conditions and limited infrastructure. Residents often contend with low rainfall, scarce water resources and the realities of a subsistence economy.

The meeting, organised by Zibusiso Maphosa the Acting DDC for Insiza, brought together senior representatives from key government departments and security agencies, including the Zimbabwe Prison Services, the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Social Welfare, Education officials, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Insiza Rural District Council (IRDC).

The session recognised Sithole’s recent donation of roofing materials to the Filabusi Prison Service, a gesture that has already improved conditions at the facility. Building on this, the MP further announced contributions of 200 metres of fencing material and the drilling of a borehole at the Prison Services’ Escadale Farm, extending his support to infrastructure needs that have direct impact on both service delivery and the dignity of public institutions.
At the event, Maphosa, speaking on behalf of the government and local departments, expressed gratitude for the MP’s sustained efforts.
“We deeply appreciate Hon. Spare Sithole for the good work he has been doing in support of various government departments as his efforts feed into attainment of Vision 2030 goals,” said Maphosa.
Sithole used the occasion to reinforce his belief in collaborative governance, emphasising the need for synergy between the ruling party and government bodies to accelerate development in Insiza South.
“Strengthening collaboration between the ruling Party and the government accelerates development for our people because government is a product of an elected party,” the MP told assembled officials and civil servants.
He was joined by Cde Langton Maphosa, the DCC Secretary for Mines, underlining the cross‑sector cooperation that characterises the constituency’s progress.
Community leaders say Sithole’s interventions are timely in a region where water scarcity, infrastructure gaps and limited economic opportunities are everyday realities for residents. By directing attention to tangible needs—such as materials for prisons, fencing for operational security and boreholes for water access—Sithole is aligning political leadership with practical impact.
For many in Insiza South, the MP’s hands‑on approach reflects a representative deeply attuned to local priorities, one whose visible engagement with government departments brings services closer to the people.
